Abstract:
Smart Cites and the Internet of Things inextricably weave networked computation
into the lives of billions. They thus become woven into the political life of the City. Yet there
seems a blithe indifference to the security implications for the daily, mundane affairs of people. We
examine how things might go wrong, how things might be righted and the questions of
accountability needed in this human system of computation. Essentially a smarter perspective on
what affects security in a new paradigm is needed.
